Kshar Sutra Therapy
Kshar Sutra Therapy is an Ayurvedic parasurgical technique.
It is usually used to treat the ano rectal diseases like piles, fistula, polyp, fissure, pilonidal sinus, conylomata etc.
It is occaisionly used to treat superficial warts, deep sinuses of muscular parts of the body, benign tumours, breast abscesses etc.

Ano-rectal Diseases
Piles/ Haemohrroid
- Piles/Heamorrhoids are vascular enlargement of heamorroidal plexuses within anal canal.as shown in Fig.
- These are of two types- Internal piles and External piles.
Fistula
- It is a chronic granulating tubular tract consisting of fibrous tissues with two opening between two cavities or cavity to cutaneous surface of the body.
- Any abscess around the anus within 4.0 cm area or more than 4.0 cm area recurred may be fistula in ano as shown in fig.
Fissure
- It is crack or vertical ulcer in lower anal canal,it may be with sentinel tag.
- Anal fissure alone is treated coservatively ,in which Ayurvedic drugs as Panchsakar Churna or Satsakar Churna, Abhayarista etc.
Rectal Polyp
- It is mass or swelling of large bowel of mucosal origin usually of benign condition as shown in fig.
- It may be sessile or pedunculated and single or multiple of diffrent size.
